Nicole Derosiers at a TRILLFIT community event

Nicole Derosiers has been a dedicated member of the TRILLFIT community for over two years. Her journey represents the transformative power of finding the right fitness community. During Hispanic Heritage Month, we're celebrating Nicole's story and the unique perspective she brings to our diverse community.

What brought you to TRILLFIT initially?

"I was looking for something different from traditional gyms. As a Dominican-American woman, I wanted a space where I could express myself fully. When I walked into my first TRILLFIT class, I heard reggaeton playing and saw people of all backgrounds moving together. I knew I had found my place."

How has TRILLFIT changed your relationship with fitness?

"Before TRILLFIT, I saw exercise as something I had to do, not something I wanted to do. Now I look forward to every class. It's become my therapy, my social time, and my celebration all rolled into one. I've learned that fitness doesn't have to be punishment – it can be pure joy."

What does community mean to you at TRILLFIT?

"Community here means showing up for each other, both in class and outside of it. When I was going through a difficult time last year, my TRILLFIT family rallied around me. We celebrate each other's victories and support each other through challenges. It's more than a gym – it's a chosen family."

How do you see your cultural background reflected in the TRILLFIT experience?

"Growing up, my abuela always said that dancing was good for the soul. At TRILLFIT, I see that wisdom in action every day. The music, the movement, the way we celebrate our bodies – it all connects back to my roots. I can be fully myself here, speaking Spanish with other members, sharing our cultural experiences."

What advice would you give to someone considering their first class?

"Just show up. Don't worry about having the perfect outfit or knowing all the moves. The TRILLFIT community will welcome you with open arms. Focus on how the music makes you feel and let your body move naturally. You'll be surprised by what you're capable of."
